This
is a Judaic Purim themed design I created based on the Scroll of Esther
and a midieval painting of Esther. I suggest using this brown
colored
text as shown.
Above you see a title graphic with Esther for you to insert a web
page title on. If you don't have a graphic program capable of
doing that, e-mail
me and I
will do it for you as time allows. Below you will find the
Esther Scroll divider and hamentaschen bullet designed for this
page.
The text buttons are designed for this page and are linked for
this site so that you can navigate through it.

Purim is one of the most joyous and fun holidays
on the Jewish calendar. It commemorates a time when the Jewish people
living in Persia were saved from extermination.
The story
of Purim is told in the Biblical book of Esther. The heroes of the
story are Esther, a beautiful young Jewish woman living in Persia, and
her cousin Mordecai, who raised her as if she were his daughter.
The book of
Esther is unusual in that it is the only book of the Bible that does
not contain the name of G_d.
The custom
of masquerading on Purim was first introduced among the Italian Jews
about the close of the fifteenth century under the influence of the
Roman carnival.
There are
four mitzvot specific to the holiday of Purim:
-
Reading the Megillah (Scroll of Esther)
-
Festivity and rejoicing (the Purim meal)
-
Sending food to friends (Mishloach Manot)
-
Giving gifts to the poor (Matanot La'evyonim)
